A couple stories to share with you all today:
I saw this over at Tom Crowe's blog and it is a wonderful story about a brave Marine Captain. Some choice quotes from the LA Times article:
"He has a rock-solid belief in the efficacy of the American mission in Iraq." "Would you want Douglas Zembiec in charge of U.S. foreign policy? Maybe, maybe not. Would you want him on your side if you—or your nation —got involved in a street brawl? Without a doubt." "He is, as his fellow officers say, a military hybrid of modern tactics and ancient attitudes." "Doug is the prototypical modern infantry officer," Clearfield said. "He's also not that much different than the officers who led the Spartans into combat 4,000 years ago."

This heartwarming story needs to be read. It is about a community that came together to support the family of a man who is deployed.
"Neighbors help fix up soldier's dairy farm"
"Since her husband, Jesse, left for Iraq in January with the National Guard, Messer has been raising three teenage sons and an 11-year-old daughter, keeping up her daycare business and overseeing the family's dairy farm."
"The volunteers scrubbed the milk room, changed light bulbs and replaced fixtures, installed tin on the barn walls to make them easier to clean and even trimmed a cow's hooves, said Heidi Chapman, a neighbor who helped organize the effort."
I just came across your blog and wanted to leave a comment. I wanted to say I wish you all the best and you along with all our great service men and women are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the link, Chris, too bad it's on the day I screw up my site while trying to update it. I'm currently not sure what I did, but for some reason it's not accessing the database like it should.
Sigh.
I'll let you know when it's back up.

Doug is doing a great job fighting the war on the bad guys. I fully support his efforts. On the other hand he needs to fess up to his fiance that he has been cheating on her. Great warrior with some bad morals. Spicy... he knows what that means.
