LAX is bustling as I sit at the airport here preparing to catch a flight to Philly and then to Ireland. We have been planning the trip for years and today it is finally here. I guess it would figure that O'Connnor would resign today when I will be without news and heading out of our nation! Oh well, I guess it will really force me to relax before we begin work on the project. I'll find as many internet cafes as I can to keep you all updated!
Have a fun and safe trip. This Supreme Court stuff will still be here when you get back. I've got a feeling that alot of us will be wishing we could take a trip to Ireland after about day 115 of 24 hour coverage....

Safe journey chris... maybe talk to some irish people and share some of what people are saying about the state of the world. That is a old & wise culture that knows about suffering, should prove interesting.

What I thought was odd was this short statement by Porter Goss, head of the CIA, in TIME. He said in an interview that he had a good idea of where Osama Bin Laden was, but:
"To the ritual question - when will we get Osama bin Laden? - Goss gave a far from ritual answer.
"That is a question that goes far deeper than you know," Goss began. "We have some weak links" that make it impossible for now to get bin Laden, he explained, pointing to "the very difficult question of dealing with sanctuaries in sovereign states."

Based on what Porter Goss says, we aren't getting Bin Laden, becasue he is in what Goss considers "sanctuaries in sovereign states."
But we will invade and occupy Iraq, because we don't like Saddam, who had nothing to do with 9/11. But those who actually attack us (Read: Osama, not Saddam!!!), can hide in 'soveriegn states"?
Horrible leadership.
To give credit to our military service, while the loss of the helicopter full of some of our finest fighting forces was sad, perhaps it reflects another close call in the hunt for OBL. This is the front line in the war on terror, and we owe these warriors immense gratitude for their sacrifice. It is also encouraging that the Brittish may send additional forces to Afganistan, where the military should be focused, not Iraq, our bogged down occupation.

Family Vacation
Hi, my name is Adam Hufford. I live in Carmel, Indiana. I am a 6th grader at Carmel Middle School. I think it’s really cool that you get to go to Ireland for a vacation. You must be really excited to go after planning it for a couple of years. While you are gone I can not believe that you are still writing on your blog. I think its o.k. that you write a little to keep us informed on your vacation but don not get obsessed with your blog and miss out on a once in a life time vacation. I also think your pictures on your website are really cool, because you have plenty of them. I really like your blog a lot.
Sincerely,
Adam Hufford

I hope the family vacation go well. When you resign you should go right to your family. Go take a dunk in a pool. Play valleyball or something. Have fun on the vacation. Be safe.
