Web of Support, Colonel North and Wired Mag
The Web of Support Tour around the country continues to be one of the most heartwarming experiences of my life. You can read all about it, as well as see some of the pictures from the road trip, at www.webofsupport.com. In the meantime, I have been fortunate enough to have some coverage of the project by Oliver North, as well as an excellent story to raise awareness for milblogs in Wired Magazine. The article from Colonel North can be found here, and includes the wonderful quote in an open letter to Jane Fonda:
Hopefully at some point during your Jihadist journey, you will bump into Sgt. Christopher Missick of the 319th Signal Battalion. While in Iraq, Missick met hundreds of good Americans through his blog, "A Line in the Sand." Home now, he and a fellow veteran are driving around the country -- fueled by conventional gasoline -- to meet some of the patriots -- his "web of support" -- who sent letters, packages and prayers. He wants to personally thank them and "meet the heart of America."
That's the kind of support the troops appreciate, not your caravan of craven critics.
The Wired article appears in the August issue and is entitled The Blogs of War.
It is wonderful what you are doing. I am so happy that you are home safe. WELCOME HOME! Also, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
You have no idea what I feel about JF. Well, maybe. Okay, you probably have me beat, but...being a lady, I won't say what I think.
I couldn't find your book on Amazon.com, so I don't know if I want to continue doing business with them. I buy several books there, and it disgusts me that they don't have yours! lol.
I know you said it is going well, but just the same, I hope everything goes better than you could ever dream! Have a good day, and take care.

Thanks for blogging like this and thanks for the efforts to do the right thing. Too bad you seem to have such high regard for Oliver North, a liar who defiled his rank and betrayed his country. The guy is a kook and doesn't really deserve any attention. He's part of the problem, not the solution, even if he is willing to attack Jane Fonda (who I'm not defending here at all). Our country and military has many many many many many many better people that deserve our respect, admiration, and support than Ollie North.
